Hi everyone, I've been meaning to update the blog for some time but I've been a bit busy since coming back to the states. I wanted to give an update regarding a lot of things revolving around Dreamcraft and what the future plans have in store for us. Like usual, this is going to be a lengthy blog post, so strap in, grab your beverage of choice and enjoy.

First things first, lets do a quick recap and go over a few things to get us up to date.

Last year was a bit slower because I spent a lot of it on my own personal journey. I decided to travel to Japan for 70 days Oct-Dec 2025. This was somewhat spontaneous; I just ended up buying my ticket and going without much thought other than "it'll take care of itself"

I had my ticket in 2020, but we all know what happened. However, without that happening I never would've started dreamcraft. It was quite literally the pivot goal since the Japan goal was out of reach. So it took me a few years, but I finally made it to Japan, and I loved every second of it. I'm so grateful for the experience, a dream come true.

Even though there wasn't too much "progression" in the releases for dreamcraft, we grew in other areas. Nats was really fun, we hung out with Kai and then asked her to join the team. While I was out in Japan, the rest of the team went to Fayes Invitational, Spirit, and Arizona and a few others. I was bummed I missed out on these events, but Japan was totally worth it. It's just nice to see the team all vibing, actively wanting to travel to hang out with each other. Also just blows my mind because we have 1 actual release and it's an organic "boomer" design. It just baffles me sometimes. Along with the pre-order for Asora, 2025 went extremely well for Dreamcraft even though it was technically a year without producing or releasing a design.

Speaking of the Asora pre-order, lets go over that first since it's the most important.

Last year we decided to have a pre-order for Asora v3. I felt bad about not having enough pink in the original drop so I wanted to do something to make up for that.

Initially I was hoping to receive these before the CNY started. However, 7068, the material itself is out of stock through FPM's suppliers. This has led to a rather lengthy time frame for Asora and I deeply apologize for this inconvenience. It really does bum me out, because one thing I'm very focused on is making sure that we have a reputation that can be trusted.

There's been issues with pre-orders in the past from other companies, some of those pre-orders I was apart of as a customer. So I was weary of doing a pre-order, but this was the best we could do. I do not have any ETA from FPM yet, but will update you as soon as we get an estimated ETA. Thanks again for understanding and having patience.

Next thing on the list is to briefly talk about Sagane. There's been a lot of questions coming my way regarding it. I know there's been several people who have wanted to buy one or wanted to know when the next version is since they missed the first one. It's been a tough design to "fix" to achieve the goals I wanted to tackle with this design; so it's been on the back burner for a while.

The problem was that I needed to sacrifice something, and I really wasn't sure on what to sacrifice, or what I was willing to sacrifice to achieve my goal. I thought mono SS would be the most ideal way to pair a heavier design with a dense material like SS. However, I think there's too many constraints within sticking with SS, so the design is turning into a bi-metal. I plan to prototype this new one, and will probably have a few for sale. I'll make a post dedicated to Sagane when the time comes.

Lets move onto some tangible designs. Joo designed a bunch of yo-yo's over the years and I'm sure a lot of you have either tried them or seen them floating around. He's put in so much effort, time, and money into designing different throws that are all similar in concept but just slightly different from one another. Really digging deep into different materials and how these affect the play of the design.

Joo's first designs were the top row (missing an outer rim cap) The second row are some of his next batches which explored different materials. He's really pushed this design and tried a lot of different unique combinations for his base concept.

This is one of the many reasons I asked Joo to join the team. He was dedicated enough to this design to learn CAD and proto it himself which is not very common. On top of that, his design philosophy and style really speak volumes here. Fixated on how materials affect yo-yo design in all aspects; hunting for the perfect combination of materials, shape, weight, and design to really search for what's best. It's something I feel like I did for Asora. That's just really impressive to me, and I really hope you will all join us when Joo decides on the ideal design to release.

To me, this is how you achieve a design that has the ability to continue being loved and enjoyed for years to come. When someone devotes this much effort into finding the perfect design for their needs in what they want to see come to life is what I love to see. He knew what type of design he wanted and put the effort in to learn CAD, proto his designs, and test them back to back.

This design has been pushed through so many different versions over the years and I believe that while they all have their own charms and characteristics to enjoy there's a few that really stand out. So expect to see one of these come out soon as Joo's signature.

I'll have a longer, more in depth blog post regarding this design in the future written by Joo so you can read up and enjoy that later. For now you can read his post going over his first protos on yyef

We're excited to bring some new designs to everyone and hope that you will all enjoy Joo's signature when we release it.

The next design we have is a signature for Juni. Some may have seen it floating around at contests or in some videos. It's a large diameter, slimmer, and heavier design that has pom rings. Again, another sort of odd-ball design coming out of Dreamcraft is an oversized yoyo that plays like a normal yoyo. Juni was interested in going larger diameter, but hiding the rims with POM so that it actually plays like something smaller than it's listed diameter. It also has a lot of presence while in play, being larger in diameter and the striking white pom rings really make it pop while playing. What we got was an amazing design that us, and many others who tried it have really enjoyed. We'll go over this one more in depth when the time comes as well.

There's a lot planned for Dreamcraft, we just have to start making moves to bring you all some fun designs to enjoy!
